As Local Studies Officer, you will support the services and programs which help to document, preserve and share Liverpool’s rich cultural heritage and history with the community.

 

Reporting to the Local Studies Team Leader, you will be based at Liverpool City Library. The position responsibilities include responding to local and family history enquiries, indexing local newspapers, cataloguing archival material, assisting with the creation of research content, supporting innovative engagement programs with the public and direct customer service.  Regular weekend and night work are required for the role.

 

Your experience in undertaking research tasks, working with history and heritage stakeholders and demonstrating an understanding of collection management systems, preservation and digitisation principles will help to enhance the services provided by Liverpool City Library.

 

Salary will be dependent upon the relevant skills, experience and competencies of the successful applicant.
